The Israel U20 National Team reached its goal of winning a gold medal in the Division III IIHF U20 World Championship this past week in Bulgaria. The team will be promoted to Division II Group B of the IIHF for the 2019 tournament.
The team was led by Revolution defenseman, Tomar Aharonovich, who currently plays for the Revolution EHL Premier team. Tomar was Israel's 2nd leading scorer for the tournament and was named the tournament's top defenseman notching 10 points overall.
The team won all five of its games in the tournament beating China, Bulgaria, Iceland, Australia, and New Zealand to earn the promotion. Tomar scored the game winner against China and had 4 assists in the Gold Medal clinching game versus Iceland.
