The Revolution U16 Elite team went undefeated over the weekend as they took a day trip to the West Chester Express for two games. They tied the first game 3-3 and then later defeated the Express by a score of 5-0.
The initial game between the Express and Revolution started with a goal in the first period by the Express. The Revolution bounced back in the second period to make the score 2-1. Forward Anthony Bench scored the first goal off of a feed from Mark Tosti. The second goal was scored by Tanner Preston with the assists from Luke Ledes and Luke Aquaro. The third period started with a goal from the home team to knot up the score at 2-2. Luke Ledes had his second point of the game when he broke the tie after plays from Colin Roberts and Tanner Preston. The Revolution looked to stave off the comeback attempt by their opponent, but ultimately gave up the game-tying goal to end the game 3-3.
With the last minute defeat on their minds, the Revolution looked to avenge their early game’s loss. They did so and came out with a dominating effort after the first period. Both teams were deadlocked at 0-0 after the first stanza. Anthony Bench started the scoring just 55 seconds into the second period. That was followed up by three more goals by the visiting team. Luke Aquaro, Matt Clark, and Mark Tosti scored the goals, while Matt Wilson and goaltender Isaac Bleicher each had an assist. Ledes and Aquaro had two assists each in the second period. Aquaro went on to score his second goal of the game in the third period to finish the game 5-0. Goaltender Isaac Bleicher stopped all 28 shots he saw in the match, after stopping 40 of 43 shots in the previous game.
