Revolution produce 6th NCAA commit from 2019-20

Philadelphia, PA – The Philadelphia Revolution are proud to announce that forward Brayden Patricia officially committed to Fitchburg State University for the 2020-21 season.

The Falcons are an NCAA Division III program located in Fitchburg, MA, just outside of Worcester. The Men’s Ice Hockey program is led by head coach, Dean Fuller. Additionally, the Falcons skate out of the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Patricia, 19, led the Revolution’s Junior A team in scoring with 55 points in 2019-20. The 6-foot center netted 28 goals while chipping in 27 assists on the year. Patricia posted 15 multi-point efforts in 41 games played with Philadelphia and his three shorthanded goals were ranked third in the Eastern Hockey League.

The 2019-20 campaign marked No. 26’s first season with the Revolution organization, after spending time primarily with the New Jersey Hitmen. Patricia spoke highly about his tenure on and off the ice with the Revolution and their efforts to help him advance to the NCAA level.

It seemed that Team President and General Manager Chris Kanaly supported Patricia throughout the commitment process.

“Kanaly was a big reason why I had a lot of schools interested in me,” said Patricia. “He was the one on the front lines, calling them (schools) and not just for me, but all of the guys on the team. He was the one fighting for us pretty big.”

Kanaly also believed that Patricia was more than just a point-producer on the Revolution.

“He’s probably the best player in the league all around,” said Kanaly. “He has all the attributes of a well-prepared NCAA player. He’ll do really well, based on his hockey ability and Hockey IQ.”

The GM expressed that Patricia is an “elite” passer and playmaker, and was impressed by not only his leadership but the fact that the youngster was so willing to lead by example and distribute the puck often to his teammates.

While Patricia leaves a winning culture, the New Jersey native is excited about his new journey.

“Hockey is the big sport on campus there, and I’m just excited to play well and play for your school with something big like that and in front of the student body.”

Patricia is one of two Revolution skaters from this past season set to join the Falcons in 2020-21.
