Philadelphia, PA – The Philadelphia Revolution are proud to announce today that Andy Ross was officially named the Head Coach of the 2007 Elite Team for 2020-21. Additionally, Jules Tarsi and Joe Valeriote were appointed as Assistant Coaches.
Ross currently coaches the 2007 team and began with the organization as an assistant with the 2006’s in 2017-18. The second-year head coach expressed his excitement for the team and its potential heading into next season.
“We’ve turned the corner and we’re competing against top teams,” said Ross. “Every day they just get better and better.”
The 2007 Elite coach mentioned how the potential growth with this group of players and program was apparent from when he first joined the organization.
“I saw that we had that certain ‘little something’,” said Ross. “It’s just been fun working with the same kids from two years ago and just see them have the will to the play game.”
The coach also spoke highly about the efficient dynamic that the organization and President and General Manager, Chris Kanaly, offers to its current and future skaters at all levels.
“I like how Kanaly has brought the professional aspect of hockey to the lower levels with the off-ice training, video training and giving players their own locker rooms.”
Ross expressed how important the overall “experience” is for developing top tier skaters at the youth and Elite levels.
The 2007 Elite team plans to play a “Tier 1” 50-game schedule next season.
